There's nothing better than having a tool this useful that also fits in your pocket!

It's not cheap, but it's so tough and easy to carry that it's worth it.

Mine is with me on every load in & load out. The wingnut spanner is indespensible.

Here we were trialling the JBL PRX One PA system. The midrange and upper frequencies were fantastic. I loved that this does not have the usual JBL spittiness (excessive high frequency output). The bass was definitely there and would be fantastic for indoor events. But outside there was no punch in the bottomw end. Luckily, I had some JBL 18 inch subs available. I added these subs to the system and got the puch back.

If I were starting again with a PA system, I'd be very tempted to base everything around the PRX One. It's very flexible, projects well and sounds great. When I need to do larger outdoor events I can just add some subs.

Mr Henry is a fantastic venue. The food and service is top-knotch. Definitely worth the short drive from Auckland.

I love getting involved in grass-roots music events. There's nothing like the satisfaction of being able to pull together a smooth running festival from what's available locally.

It's a big team effort between the Vortex Events crew, Bruce, Spencer and myself. The biggest components of the show were:

Deploying and tuning the Electro-Voice X-Line PA system

Building a patch system to get us through all the changeovers in the festival

Creating a process to switch from foldback wedges and IEMs quickly

Looking forward to next year's event!
